wangaratta
I spoke my first word when Mum and Dad were doing a similar trip through Australia. No one-syllable words for me - my first word was 'Wangaratta', which abruptly ended the competition between my parents to see whether I would say "mum" or "dad" as my first word.
So, yes Dad, I get the irony (and believe me, I'm way beyond it) that on the first day of our trip (after, mind you, having K-mart do a major service of the car in preparation) that we blew a head gasket outside of Wangaratta and are now stuck here for four days.
Wangaratta is Back to the Future meets the CWA. I'm not saying that Wangaratta has a ... casual ... way of life, but they do have a five-step plan in the toilets on how to wash your hands (see photo).

| Graham, the man who owns the RACV garage in Wangaratta, with Rusty, who is feeling a bit poorly but is very glad he hasn't got a bent head. As anyone would be really. Unless they were in Nimbin. |
